John James would NEVER cheat on me

IT’S been six months since Josie Gibson won Big Brother 11, winning the nation’s hearts and bagging the £100,000 prize money.
But despite her winnings, Josie Gibson STILL thinks finding love with John James in the Big Brother 11 house was the real prize for her.

She told us: “Me and John feel like we’re a bit luckier than everyone else that got to go on Big Brother because we also met each other.”

And referring to her recent charity work, she added: “And I think if you’ve been that lucky, you’ve got to give a bit back.”

Josie has just released her first perfume, Josie, which sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale at The Perfume Shop, so new-magazine.co.uk had a quick chat with her to find out how she and John are finding life post-Big Brother.

So Josie, how have you been?
I’ve been great! I moved in with John, in South London, we have a lovely little flat overlooking the river. I’ve been a bit of a housewife recently, but I did just bring out a perfume and a single with the Cornish Wurzels!

Your perfume sold out so fast…
I know! I didn’t realise, I got told that the other day and I nearly fainted! I don’t know how we did it! Mind you, me and John have managed to gain some really lovely followers, they’re like a little family.

Do you find having ‘fans’ weird?
I don’t really like calling them fans, they’re so good to us, but no, we chat to them on Twitter all day. But I talk and chat to everybody, everyone’s my best mate in the first five minutes!

How’s life with John?
We’re exactly the same as we were in the house! In the house you turn into a sort of hermit, and when I got out, I wasn’t used to all the people, so it’s been a bit like ‘woah’, but we’re not in the limelight anymore. So I’m enjoying every minute of it now, it’s lovely! It’s just right, it’s just perfect.

So do you still bicker a lot?
We don’t bicker loads, we do have our rows, but we always make up again. We haven’t had a row for a while actually, we argue about silly stuff. To be honest, considering that we have spent every hour together for the last six months, I think we’ve done really well.

Is there an engagement on the cards anytime soon?
I don’t know, I can’t speak for John, but I’m not going to ask him! It’s not something I’ve really thought about, we’re just boyfriend and girlfriend.

Would you say yes if he asked?
Obviously there are areas he would have to work on, [laughs]. No, I’m kidding, the main thing is that he’s loyal. He’s got thousands of girls throwing themselves at him and some blokes you would worry about, but with him, you don’t even have to bat an eyelid.
That’s the main thing to me, is that he’s loyal…and that he makes me laugh everyday.

[At this point in our interview John James comes home “all flustered and stressed out” and Josie says she has to call us back because “he wants to tell me about his dramas at the bank”.]

What happened there?!
He’s just came through the door all windswept saying, [in a mock Aussie accent] ‘you don’t understand what’s just happened to me!’ He was having a bit of melt down but he’s alright now, bless him. It’s all different here, you see, he’s not used to everything!

So what has been the biggest change for you since BB?
Before I went in, I struggled to pay my phone bill, but I can pay my bills now! And I’ve been able to work with charities, and obviously meeting John has been a massive change, I didn’t think I would ever get a boyfriend again. Everything has changed really, it’s been amazing. We rarely sit down and think about it all because it’s so mind blowing.

Has anyone been nasty to you since you left the house?
People still say that John and I are fake. I’m a bit naïve to it all and I didn’t realise that people go in the house and do that, because you don’t think about it, but they still accuse us of being fake.
They send us messages on Twitter, saying we have a ‘fauxmance’. Me and John don’t care, as long as you know what you have got, who cares what anyone else thinks? I do scratch my head and think ‘how do you STILL think we’re fake?’, but then I think, if people still think we’re fake, someone needs to hurry up and get us a film agent, we’d be the best actors ever!

Do you have any advice for Matt Cardle as the X Factor winner?
Just enjoy each day as it comes, because it might not last. Me and John know that it doesn’t last, people are probably already bored of us! Remember to enjoy it, don’t let the stress get to you.
I don’t know how some people have come out and done it on their own. Me and john are so lucky to have each other, we keep each other grounded. We are bloomin’ lucky!
